View industriesThe Move/Rotate command is used to adjust the position and orientation of components within an assembly. It is typically used for preliminary positioning before applying mates, or for verifying component motion and spatial relationships.
Use either of the following methods to enter Move/Rotate mode:
In the graphics area, select a component, right-click, and choose "Move/Rotate" from the context menu (Shortcut: G).
In the structure tree, right-click the corresponding component node and select "Move/Rotate" (Shortcut: G).
Select the target components.
Drag a gizmo axis to translate the component and release to confirm the new position.
(Optional) Input a numeric distance value and press Enter to apply a precise translation.

When a part is selected at the top-level assembly, motion is performed about its own centroid.
When a component inside a subassembly is selected at the top-level assembly, the entire subassembly is moved or rotated about its assembly reference.
To manipulate an individual component within a subassembly, entry into the subassembly editing environment is required.
