View industriesThe Toggle Driven/Driving Dimension function is used to flexibly adjust dimensional constraint attributes in the 3D CAD sketch module. It allows quick conversion between driving and driven states for the same dimension.
Driving state: The dimension value acts as an active control parameter. Modifying it directly drives synchronous deformation of sketch geometry and associated solid features.
Driven state: The dimension serves only as a reference, reflecting current geometric parameters. Its value updates passively with sketch changes and cannot be edited manually.
Steps
Click the "Toggle Driven/Driving Dimension" icon in the toolbar.
Select a driving dimension to switch it to a driven dimension.
To switch back: click the icon again, then select a driven dimension to convert it to a driving dimension.
Continue selecting other dimensions as needed.
Right-click or press Esc to exit.
Step 1 - Click the "Toggle Driven/Driving Dimension" icon in the toolbar:
Step 2-1 Select one driving dimension:
Step 2-2 The dimension is switched to a driven dimension:
Notes
If a dimension is identified as a redundant constraint, it will automatically display as a driven constraint and cannot be switched to driving.
